What taxes and charges are levied at Eurowings?
All charges levied by third parties are included in the ticket price.
Charges comprise the following:
Airport charges
Aviation security fees
Airport/civil aviation taxes
Handling charges at departure and destination airports
Value-added tax (on German domestic flights)
German air traffic tax (for departures from Germany)
Based on distance: taxes in the amount of €7.50 or €23.43 (Egypt and Israel)
(plus 19% VAT within Germany)Note:
The composition of charges may vary for flights with our partner airlines. Our current partner airlines are Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Condor, United Airlines, Air Canada and All Nippon Airways.
Why do taxes sometimes vary on identical routes at Eurowings?
On domestic German flights, both the net ticket price and all charges are subject to value-added tax. Ticket prices of different amounts therefore mean different amounts of value-added tax. Moreover, on some flights and some sale tickets, Eurowings covers a portion of the charges due.
What is included in the Eurowings ticket price?
The low ticket price that you see in the first step of the booking process includes the total ticket price including all taxes and charges.
If you add additional services to your booking that are subject to charges, the additional charges will be shown when you select them. You must pay these on top of the ticket price.
What does 'Payment status: declined/pending' mean on the Eurowings pages 'My bookings' or 'Booking changes'?
The status display under "My flight" or "View booking" allows you to track the status of your payment and see when your payment has been debited successfully.
Declined
The status "Declined" is displayed if the payment could not be completed for some reason or if your direct debit has been returned.
Please note that if payment is unsuccessful, reservations may be cancelled without warning in accordance with the Conditions of Carriage (item 4.5).
Pending
The status "Pending" means that authorisation is still in progress, but your seat is reserved. If payment is unsuccessful, the status will change to "Declined".
Confirmed
If the status "Confirmed" is displayed, both your payment and reservation have been successfully completed and your flight booking has been confirmed.
If you have any questions about your payment status, our helpful call centre staff will be happy to advise you.
