Rail&Fly tickets are valid for use in Germany, Basel, and Salzburg (in first or second class as booked) on all regular scheduled trains run by Deutsche Bahn AG:
A Rail&Fly ticket permits the traveller use of local and long-distance trains, as well as selected non-federally owned rail networks. The permitted routes and product classes for the journey to the destination are displayed on the Rail&Fly ticket:
Product class ICE:
ICE, ECE, TGV, railjet express, and railjet
Product class IC/EC:
IC, EC
Product class regional and local networks, displayed on the ticket as "Nv" (local transport):
IRE, RE, RB, S-Bahn, and selected non-DB rail networks (non-federally owned networks)
If the departure airport is not connected directly to the DB railway network, a passenger travelling on a Rail&Fly ticket may travel to the train station closest to the airport. The Rail&Fly ticket also permits use of the services of the partner network of the DB and, where applicable, selected transport modes of participating transport companies and regional tariff associations, in accordance with www.bahnanreise.de/geltungsbereich.
