We recommend:

Checking in online, if you are only travelling with hand baggage or simply want to save time at the airport. You can use this free service as early as 72 hours before departure and reserve your desired seat directly!

Scheduling enough time for check-in and security checks to avoid unnecessary time pressure.

Planning an additional half hour for the walk from check-in to the boarding gate, especially if there is a high volume of passengers (e.g. at the start of a holiday), if you are dropping off special baggage or if you require special flight assistance.

Paying attention to monitor displays and airport announcements - these provide information on where check-in counters are located and inform about changes.

Checking the liquids in your hand baggage: The maximum amount of permitted liquids in hand baggage is 1000 ml/g (maximum 10 containers of 100 ml each in a resealable 1 litre bag).

Without stress on the day of departure: Our Late Night Baggage Drop

Would you like to drop off your baggage the night before? You can do so at the following airports:

  • Berlin (BER): 16:00 – 17:00 (Saturdays only at the baggage kiosks) for next-day flights until 12:00 noon
  • Cologne-Bonn (CGN): 16:00 – 17:00 for next-day flights until 12:00 noon
  • Dusseldorf (DUS): 18:00 – 20:00 for next-day flights until 12:00 noon
  • Hamburg (HAM): 18:00 – 20:00 for next-day flights until 10:00 a.m.
  • Stuttgart (STR): 18:00 – 20:00 for next-day flights until 08:00 a.m.

The service is available free of charge at the baggage kiosks (except Stuttgart) or for €5.00 per person (incl. taxes) at the counter. Use of the kiosks is not available for flights to  Armenia, Egypt, Georgia, Montenegro, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkey or the United Arab Emirates.

Late Night Baggage Drop is not available for flights to Beirut, Pristina and Erbil, or for flights to the USA or Canada. Sports weapons cannot be dropped the night before.

If free check-in at the airport is not included in your fare (e.g. in the BASIC fare), we recommend checking in online before dropping of your baggage. Should you decide at the airport that you'd prefer to check in at the counter, we will charge €15 per person.

Ways to check-in

Online check-in

How the web check-in works

This is how online check-in works at Eurowings

Online check-in is free of charge for all passengers.

As a general rule, you can use web and mobile check-in as early as 72 hours and as late as 3 hours prior to departure. At most German departure airports you can even check in as little as 40 minutes prior to departure.

Booking changes, name changes and adding extra services

Booking changes, name changes and adding extra services (e.g. baggage) are only possible via the website until web and mobile check-in close at your departure airport.

You can check here what the exact web and mobile check-in times are for your departure airport.

Airport check-in service

Our airport check-in service is free for all SMART or BIZclass fare passengers.

A surcharge applies to passengers flying with BASIC fare: Selecting Airport Check-in as an option during booking costs €2.50 per person.

Should you decide at the airport that you'd prefer to check in at the counter, we will charge €15 per person.

Important note on travel documents

A valid travel document is required for check-in. Depending on the destination, an ID card or passport must be shown.

A driver's license, for example, is not sufficient.
