Accepted Answer

Insurance coverage also applies for countries for which a travel warning has been issued. However, illnesses and their consequences, as well as the consequences of accidents resulting from foreseeable wars or the active participation in violence during unrest are excluded from coverage.

Accepted Answer

In the event of damage, HanseMerkur will always require the following documents and information:

A copy of your Eurowings booking confirmation
A copy of your insurance confirmation
The full address of the insurance policy holder
Bank account information for any reimbursements
A medical certificate with the diagnosis and treatment information (for travel cancellation insurance)
A completed and signed “travel cancellation insurance confidentiality waiver" form

There is no need to worry about cancellation periods for single-trip insurances. These policies terminate automatically at the end of the journey.

What is the latest date that I can buy travel insurance at Eurowings?

Accepted Answer

It is best to purchase travel insurance at the same time as you book your flight. You can add appropriate insurance cover within 30 days after booking your flight. If there are fewer than 30 days between your travel booking date and your departure date, the purchase must be made within three business days of your travel booking.

At what point is travel insurance officially in effect at Eurowings?

When you check in for a flight (in the case of check-in the previous evening, when your passport and boarding pass are checked)
When you take delivery of your rental car
When you check in to your hotel
When you board a train (if your travel insurance covers the train trip or when you transfer to the insured carrier).
