Which airline is the check-in with?

If you are only flying with a codeshare partner airline and not with Eurowings, you must check in with the partner airline! This also applies to any check-in or baggage machines at the airport. If you have several flights in the same booking operated by Eurowings and another codeshare partner airline, you must check in with the airline operating the first flight. The route from Düsseldorf (DUS) to Prague (PRG) is operated by Eurowings. The route from Prague (PRG) to Hurghada (HRG) is operated by Smartwings, but in codeshare with Eurowings. In this case, check-in takes place at Eurowings.

Where do I drop off my baggage at the airport?

In the case of codesharing, the baggage rules of the marketing carrier apply. The airline that sells tickets for a flight but does not actually operate it is called the marketing carrier. The rebooking conditions and baggage fees of the marketing carrier apply. If your flight is operated by a codeshare partner airline, you must check in your baggage at the counter or, if available, at the machine of the codeshare partner airline. If you have multiple flights in the same booking operated by Eurowings and another codeshare partner airline, you must check in your baggage with the airline operating the first flight. Both legs of the journey are combined in one ticket. In this example, you check in with Eurowings, as Eurowings operates the first leg of the journey.

Please note the following three scenarios:

If the entire flight is operated by a partner airline, you check in with this airline.
