Special baggage
The surfboard for Fuerteventura, the pair of skis for a winter holiday in Salzburg or the bicycle for a tour of Mallorca: Eurowings offers you various options for taking your sports equipment with you on your travels. You can specify your sports equipment directly when booking or add it to your flight afterwards. What are the permitted dimensions? What is allowed in the cabin? And what are the costs? Questions about special baggage:
You can book large pieces of sports equipment such as bicycles (except e-bikes), skis and surfboards online up to before web check-in closes before departure, either at the time of booking the flight or at a later date. There must be sufficient storage space available on the plane.

Bicycle
Bicycles can be carried, provided they are packed in a protective box or bag specifically designed for transporting bicycles. Please note that cardboard boxes and bicycle bags with a soft covering are only permissible if they are insulated with protective inner packaging material or fabric padding.
The handlebars must be arranged parallel to the frame, pedals and any other protruding parts must be removed, and the air pressure in the tyres must be reduced.
We cannot carry e-bikes due to their battery drive systems.Bodyboards and surfboards
Bodyboards and surfboards can be transported in a protective bag.
Ski/Snowboard
Ski or snowboard equipment (including accessories such as poles and ski/snowboard boots) can be carried up to a maximum weight of 32kg and packed in a maximum of 2 pieces of baggage per passenger (e.g. 1 ski bag and 1 ski boot bag).
Charges
A charge may apply for the transportation of sports equipment. You can find out if a charge will be applied and how much it will cost here.
Please note that we do not transport unaccompanied baggage on our flights.

How can I check in sports equipment free of charge?
While every passenger must pay a surcharge for larger sports equipment items such as bicycles or surfboards, this service is free for Eurowings credit card holders and their companions – provided they have booked their flight online and paid for it with a Eurowings credit card.
Any subsequent booking of transport for sports equipment is also free of charge, subject to the same conditions. However, this subsequent booking must be made with the same Eurowings credit card.

Additional services on flights with our partner airlines can only be booked at the time of booking or subsequently through the airline in question.

If you are unable to pack your baggage in a compact container, it must be checked in as oversize baggage. As long as such baggage does not exceed a weight of 23 kg it can be treated as normal baggage, and therefore only the standard surcharge will be applied. You may take a maximum of 5 items of baggage weighing no more than 32 kg per person.
If your oversize baggage exceeds a weight of 23 kg, a charge will be applied.
Please note that special conditions apply for sports equipment, wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Yes, musical instruments can be dropped off as checked baggage provided they are packaged in a hard case. For the reservation, please select “Other sports equipment” on the services page during the booking.
If you are carrying your musical instruments in a soft case, they must be carried as hand baggage in the cabin and must not exceed 55 x 40 x 23 cm in size.
Musical Instruments on an Extra Seat
Larger musical instruments (such as guitars) may only be transported in the cabin if they are in a soft case on an extra seat.
Please consider the following size limitations:
Maximum weight of 75 kg.
155 x 42 x 15 cm, if the instrument is stored on the cabin floor in front of the extra seat.
110 x 42 x 50 cm, if the instrument is stored on the seat.
Exceptions:
Double basses must be transported in a hard case and checked in as baggage. They may not be carried in the cabin due to their size.
Costs:
There will be a surcharge for carrying musical instruments in the hold. Our table of charges tells you how much the surcharge will be.
