Contrary to popular opinion, the Greek island of Mykonos (JMK) does have some beautiful museums and historical buildings to offer. Book your Mykonos (JMK) flights now and visit the island's Archaeological Museum. It was built in 1902 and houses all the finds from the necropolis. In the Folklore Museum, visitors will find everyday household items, cannons and ships models from the 19th century. Culture lovers should also pay a visit to the Panagia Paraportiani Church and the Panagia Turliani Monastery. On your city tour, you will also be able to see what makes the island's architecture so unique: white houses with colourful wooden doors and brightly painted balconies.
In addition to its many attractions, the island also boasts numerous sandy beaches offering plenty of space to relax and unwind. The beach of Agios Stefanos is about two kilometres away from the centre, featuring complete protection from the wind. This beach is especially good for families with children, as the water gradient is very flat out into the sea. Elias beach is less suitable for children due to being a nudist beach, but it does offer some peace and quiet. Windsurfers will love the beach at Ftelia, as it is north-facing and so there are waves to match almost every day.
